The country’s original ant killer, TERRO Liquid Ant Killer, provides fast-acting elimination of the queen and entire colony. With the goal of attracting and killing all common household ants, the liquid bait is specifically designed – using the active ingredient Borax- to give the foraging ants enough time to share the bait with the rest of the unsuspecting colony.
To kill common household ants - including Argentine ants, ghost ants, cornfield ants, pavement ants, acrobat ants, white footed ants, little black ants, odorous house ants and other sweet eating ants - simply place the ant killer liquid on the squares of cardboard provided, sit back and relax. Your work is done.
TERRO Ant Killer may work like magic, but here are the simple facts on how it really works. TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is a bait product, so at first ants will come in large numbers, but don’t worry - they will soon disappear. The product is specifically formulated to allow worker ants to consume the product and survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest and deliver a dose to the rest of the colony.
Leave the ant killer liquid undisturbed while the ants are actively feeding on it and be sure to eliminate all other food sources in the area. This will ensure that the ants aren’t tempted to eat anything but the TERRO liquid ant bait.
While the active ingredient in the bait will ultimately kill the worker ant, it deviously interferes with the ant's digestive system, slowly enough that the worker has time to get back home and share the ant bait with the rest of the colony, including the queen. This slow kill is necessary to allow time for the foraging ants to make several trips to the bait and deliver enough deadly bait to the rest of the colony.
TERRO Liquid Ant Killer is easy-to-use; simply tear PLACE TERRO HERE squares from the carton along the perforated lines and apply the liquid directly from the bottle onto the squares. Small pieces of paper, cardboard, or foil may be substituted for the cardboard provided.
Place the product where ants are seen, such as the edges of sinks, tubs, window sills, under food cabinets, along floors and baseboards and in corners. Do not skimp on bait placements; the more bait placements, the better.
Resist the temptation to interfere when the ants come in droves — your patience will pay off as you watch your ant infestation dwindle then disappear. Depending on the size of the ant invasion, complete control may take up to two weeks.
The key to effectively eliminating the ant infestation is to monitor the placements and ensure there is always a fresh supply of TERRO Ant Killer for the ants to feast on.
Since invading ants usually have outdoor nesting sites, it often helps to put the product outside, close to where ants are found entering the structure. Ants typically follow defined trails from the nest to food or water so placing the ant killer liquid close to these trails will improve control.
